[Special thanks to Claire Wise for photographing our happy event last week.]

Hello and happy Monday, friends!

Last week I had the super fun opportunity to host a Christmas party with The Land of Nod and lots of new and old friends. My challenge from Nod was to decorate my home for Christmas using their holiday decor (yes, please!), to design a Cottage Dollhouse in my own unique way (so fun!) and to have an awesome evening with my girlfriends (easy peasy!).

I had a great time shopping the Nod holiday decor collection and added tons of things to my Christmas Decorating Pinboard to set the stage for a festive evening.

I draped their Winter Wonderland Garland from wall to wall in our two-story living room to create a festive dropped ceiling for the party (which I totally want to leave up all season long!).

A couple of weeks before the party I asked my brother-in-law to paint something pretty for above our mantle for the holidays. I was beside myself pleased with what he came up with – it was just right!

And the dollhouse – OH, the dollhouse! I can’t wait to give this to Hazel for Christmas! (Though I’m not sure I can bear to keep it hidden from her eager eyes until then.)

The dollhouse comes ready to decorate and you can either do your own thing altogether, or you can buy adesign kit that comes with vinyl re-stickable wallpaper, rugs, wall art, picture frames and moulding for the entire house. I bought some woodgrain scrapbook paper for the stairs and printed teeny tiny images from our annual family photos to frame for the “kids’ room” and “family room”. Hazel is going to LOVE this!batteries not required

We had a shipping snafu on party day that prevented all of our fun Nod merchandise from being present for the event. But Heather (our Nod ambassador) and I got creative and she printed pictures of each of the things we’d hoped would be there in person onto foam core, and on the fly we decided to make a game of it! Thanks to the generosity of Land of Nod, we played a super fun version of White Elephant (or do y’all call it Dirty Santa?) where everybody got to either draw a gift or steal someone else’s. Everybody went home with an awesome prize from a Fox Sleeping Bag to an Intergalactic Play Set (yay, Kayla Aimee!) to a super hip Teepee (yay, Amanda!). All that, plus a gift bag with a 12 Days of Christmas ornament set for everyone!

I loved spending the evening with my people, playing games, feeling festive and sending them home with fun Nod goodies. Thanks to The Land of Nod for making that happen!

That painting is incredible! And I love that “batteries not required” sign. I just went around replacing all of the dead batteries in Casey’s toys and fully appreciate when someone gives him a toy that doesn’t require batteries. More imagination required for him + no upkeep required by me is a win all around.

    Looks like an amazing night!

Oh what fun! Your bro-in-law is too talented! I am so jealous of the goodies. That fox sleeping bag is on my little man’s wish list. Will definitely use this discount code to snag some giftage!
