It’s time: A New Movement for our Generation

IfGathering

Next February has me in Austin, Texas.

Not for the BBQ.

Not for the art and music scene.

Not even for the frequent flyer miles.

Something big is happening in Austin in February, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

God’s hand will be there. It’s already pushing me there – and I’m not the only one.

There is movement – literal movement. It’s the turning of pages, it’s the descending onto knees, it’s an almost indiscernible trembling and eager restlessness among our generation of women. The Holy Spirit is moving expertly, beautifully, sovereignly among us. And now? Now it’s time to gather!

In fact, the gathering has already begun. Women. Leaders. Passionate God-seekers and prayer warriors and humble, hands-open “yes”-sayers have already begun coming together – answering the call. And more, asking the question:

“If God is real, then what?”

The IF:GATHERING is real and it’s happening and it’s worth sitting up and taking notice of.

It’s not for bloggers, DIY-ers, Moms or businesswomen. It’s not even about lectures or breakout sessions or conference badges. The IF:Gathering is for daughters of the King to come together – to seek together. This 2-day gathering will bring women together to wrestle out how to live out the calling God has placed on our lives.

“Our generation of Christians is different. We are not satisfied with comfortable life. We don’t trust it. We want more. We want to be…uncomfortable. Because we know our discomfort is a sign of growth. And it’s a sign that we are stepping into the audacious dream that God has for us.” -Lindsey Nobles

meet me here

That’s where I’ll be in February. I’m already trusting the Lord to meet me (and you!) there then, and a thousands times before that, right where we are.

Wow; I live in Austin (well right outside of it & my church is there) and had not heard anything about this yet. Thanks for posting about it! Our next big thing in the city is Explore God this fall, in which much of the city is participating. I heard that over 240 churches will be involved. Soon we’ll be trained to be equipped for it so we can enter into meaningful conversations with people about the gospel. Well, not that we can’t/do not now, but I look forward to becoming more skilled at it. Will be exploring the IF site soon too.

Wow, it’s amazing that when we come together for a purpose how quickly the word gets out. I saw this on another blog that I frequent and for the past couple of days, it keeps popping up. Definitely have this on my calendar for February. So excited!!
