**updated: we’re over 80 people now, so I’m going to go ahead and close the group after 5:00 CST today. happy running!**

One thing I know for sure: I am not alone!

Y’all gave a huge response to my [i hate] running post on Friday! I’ve been trying to keep a running list of people who want to join me in training and as of 3:00 CST today we are at 63! The original #TeamFMF was made up of 18 awesome people, so I can’t wait to get to train with the 63 (or more) who are jumping in this time around!

If you didn’t read Friday’s post, here are the Cliff’s Notes:

  • I am not a runner.
  • In 2011 I trained with 18 other internetty and IRL friends (by the end they were all IRL friends!) and found my feet (ha!). It turns out even I can run a half marathon – and that’s what we did together in December of that year in Memphis.
  • I haven’t run a whole lot since then, so I’d like to start again now (I just turned 30 last summer, after all). I’ll be training for the St. Jude half marathon in Nashville on April 27th.
  • I like training buddies and accountability.
  • I think y’all do, too.
  • And by y’all – I mean the 63 runners and non-runners, people who want to train to run in the St. Jude half with me and people who just want some good old-fashioned accountability.
  • Nike+ has their challenge feature in maintenance mode (boo)
  • So we’re using Daily Mile for our first challenge (yay)
  • Our first challenge is all about covering ground. Most distance wins the prize.
  • What is the prize? Challenge #1 is being sponsored by Natalie at NS Pottery – she’s put a $30 gift certificate to her shop up for grabs. (I know what I’d pick… but it’s going to take a lot of miles to win it…)
  • It’s not too late to join! Challenge #1 begins today and ends January 31st.
  • If you want to join us, email me with the following info: name, blog, twitter handle, state, running experience level (1-10) and whether you’re interested in the April race with me or just accountability.
  • Also, but seriously – you don’t have to be the fastest or the longest distance runner to be in this group! Seriously. Just lace up and log a half a mile if that’s all you can do – it’s just fun and all of the challenges will be different with different prizes!

Love this idea…wish I could join you!! I’m due with baby #2 Feb 2nd. So as soon as I am cleared to workout again I might join in just for the accountability.
