stripes and dorks and loving people

Hi friends!

Just dropping in very quickly on this GORGEOUS fall Friday afternoon to tell you something that I think you’ll be glad to hear.

If you follow me on Instagram at all, you may have noticed (starting at the beginning of this month) me being rather giddy over the production and delivery of a very gorgeous, very custom Better Life Bag. Rebecca has tons of gorgeous fabrics to chose from in her shop, but I’m – um – a little high maintenance? Bold? Hm… let’s just call it assertive and move along, shall we?

Anyway, I had something pretty specific in mind and I asked her if I could order the fabric myself and have it shipped directly to her. (Told you I was… assertive.) Well, the good news is that Rebecca is super accommodating and she’s all about custom work anyway, so she agreed to make my bag exactly how I wanted it.

And? I lurve it.

Two things you now know:
1. I’m a big dork. Never think anything different.
2. I love stripes. (I spy at least three other striped things in those photos – not to mention the other graphic prints. sheesh. I have a problem.)

The two things I want you to know (and I’m taking too long to get around to telling you!):

1. BetterLifeBags is not just awesome because of the custom and the leather and the construction. The reason my heart beats for this company is because Rebecca’s heart beats for the broken. She hires first generation immigrant women in her community who otherwise could not work outside the home, rents them a sewing machine and tools while teaching them a skill set that allows them to become a primary or secondary provider in their families. Each bag is lovingly made with their hands and each purchase gives respect and dignity to their lives. (Hence, “better life bags”.)  Bottom Line: the more bags sold, the more women get to hear the Good News!

2. Back to the stripes. Rebecca is offering a super limited time run of my black and white striped bag right now! Like, super limited. Like, I think she’s only taking orders with this fabric through tomorrow. Okay, so if you want it – go get it while she’s still doing it!

Details:
–>Put “Black and White” in the fabric slots where you want this delicious Michael Miller fabric to go. (I had it in the “main body fabric”, “front and back pockets”, and “front and back pocket lining”.)  And be sure to pick a fun inside lining from her 60+ fabric options!  Anything goes with black and white!

–>And in case you’re wondering: YES, you can use this black and white goodness on any bag in the shop (My bag is the Brynnda.).  She’ll be taking orders until she runs out of fabric + she’ll email you to confirm your order within 48 hours and let you know that you are good to go.

Happy Friday, friends!

I think your friend is very blessed to be able to help other women financially. And I think you are very blessed to be able to help your friend out by supporting her budget.
