becoming thirty

Posted by & filed under Being an Adult, Granddad and Groovy, Hazel, Oliver.

The morning I turned thirty was spent on the back deck, under an umbrella, with a giant cup of my favorite coffee, donuts, oatmeal, and five people who love me like crazy – just as I am, quirks and all!

I turned thirty with a kiss from my husband, a song from my kiddos (who had a hard time making eye contact while they sang because Little Einsteins was competing for their attention in the background), and the breakfast of my choice brought to me on a tray by my mother-in-law.

We sat there for three hours, sipping, laughing, telling, and, in Hazel’s case, trying to sneak into the pool for an early morning swim.

If this is thirty, I guess it’s not so bad after all!

[and I think she wore that shirt this morning just for her Mommy]

Thank you all for your kind birthday wishes and “thirty isn’t so bad!” encouragement :)

Now excuse me while I jump in the pool with my blondies – they make me feel as young as ever!

Happy Birthday!! I am looking forward to turning 30 soon too. I think it will be a great year when it comes. I am not sure why, but I think there is a lot of good things to anticipate. You look like you have a lot to be grateful for. All the best :)
