the fallout

fallout

Good morning!

Let’s look at today as sort of a good news/bad news situation.

The good news: you guys, I feel so much better. Whatever I had was HORRIBLE and long but I feel so SO much better! Like, I put on makeup yesterday. And a bra.

The bad news: my house. oh. my. when mommy is down, the team goes into survival mode. especially when daddy tries to work from home to help out. it’s every man for himself. let’s just say the recovery effort is underway.

And that includes the play room. Do you remember how proud I was a few months back to present my shiny, beautiful play room to y’all? Well, it seems only fair now to show you what it looks like after having Typhoid Mary for a mommy for five days.

In all of it’s glory:

Shelves bare and bunting off its hinges. Oh boy.

I don’t even know.

I can’t help but look at the crazy variety of toys strewn about and wonder if any actual, productive play occurred. Or was it just crazy times.

But the good news: I’m just so grateful to be on the upswing and productive for a change, cleaning it actually looks appealing to me!

More fallout: Since I’ve been down for almost a week, I regret to inform you (really myself) that today is my 9th wedding anniversary with the man who has my heart (and nurses it back to health so sweetly) and I got nothing. No gift, no plan, not even a card. We’re just going to fly by the seat of our plans this year because life gets hard, but truly we just couldn’t be happier to roll with the punches at each other’s side.

He’s a good man. I don’t know why I get to be his, but I am crazy about him and all I want to do is be his girl and take care of him and support him and love him and honor him – until the day the typhoid finally claims me.

Happy Anniversary, baby! How do you feel about a clean playroom as a gift? ;)

Goodness! I’m so sorry you’ve been down & out for so long! I can feel your pain a little- I’ve had a headache for three days & instead of cleaning the kitchen/washing dishes, I’ve come home from work each night to eat dinner(make more dishes dirty) & then take a nap, all while my hubby studies all evening. Our kitchen is a disaster! Good news is that the headache is finally gone. :)

I’m glad you’re feeling better, lady!

So glad you’re feeling better. And I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but my kids room pretty much ALWAYS look like that. Yikes.

I say order in, send the kids to bed early and settle in with The Mister! Just enjoy the craziness that is life and remind yourselves how blessed you are to get to be crazy with each other! Happy Anniversary, Myers!!

Aww, you poor sweet thing! I had no idea you were sick because we’ve been without internet in the midst of this crazy move. I’m so sorry. Sick is not fun.

In other news, Jeremy and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary today too. No plans, no cards; just thankful peace-filled hearts. We are going to try to sneak out for the afternoon and evening after church on Sunday. Hopefully you guys can slip out on a date-night soon too.

Prayers of blessings and joy for you both today! Hugs from Indiana!

I’ve gotta tell you: I’m not impressed. If my kids’ room looks like that at the end of the day, I think, “Huh. Not bad!”
    Nonetheless, glad you’re feeling better.

And Happy Anniversary! Our 9th is next week–and now I vaguely recall that we had the same person sing the same song at our respective weddings 9 years ago. Did you know this?

Susan – yes! I do now vaguely remember you getting married around the same time! I’m guessing our shared singer was Tovey and not Cliff? :) I did NOT know we had the same song. Funny!

But seriously, if you pick a song sung in Italian, you go to Tovey. Done.

      Happy anniversary next week!

First, I agree with Susan. My kids do that much damage in like an hour. They are talented.
Second, the baby in the Ikea art supplies holder thingy made me laugh.
    Third, happy anniversary!!! xoxox!

Cannot believe it’s been 9 years! I know I sound like an old person when I say that, but seriously. Happiest of days to you guys. Let’s look at it this way: at least Ryan doesn’t have to wear a three-piece wool suit in the hot hot sun today, right? At least, I don’t think he does?

Oh, and please feel better. I am so sad for sick Rae. Love you.

    1) I am glad you’re feeling better. 2) My playroom looks like that when I feel great. Please don’t ever stop by my house unannounced, unless you have an HGTV truck with you to reorganize and clean me up. 3) I’m a little bummed Keight hasn’t commented yet, because I *know* there is something hilarious to be said about the baby doll in the cupholder, and I know she is the one to think of it. 4) Happy Anniversary! Love you two and your sweet love for each other. Happiest wishes for a lovely day and many more years to come.

Glad you are feeling better, when mummy gets sick everything goes to pot, happens over here too!

If that is a messy playroom you should never see my playroom.
I had 5 kids down there a few nights ago and you can’t see the floor.
    It’s really bad.
    Need to clean but unmotivated.
