today…

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

Today, Audrey and I worked swiftly in the kitchen before she had to leave for class. We chopped veggies, seared roasts and made preparations for having our favorite family of eleven over for dinner tonight. There is currently 7.5 pounds of roast divided into two slow cookers on my countertop right now!

Today Ryan was up and out of the house well before sunrise.

Today I took a shower!

Today, my friend and neighbor, Joni invited both of my children over to play for the day. Both of them. Even the one with the cough.

Today I have 3 batches of olive oil infusion working its magic in my oven. Feels good. Smells good.

Today I panicked when I realized that I do not have cold weather running clothes (newbie runner, remember?) and felt a little panicked when I realized that my race is only 18 days away.

Today I will run out of diapers if I don’t make it to Target.

Today I get to go shopping for running gear ALL.BY.MY.SELF. Then come home to dinner with friends that I love, which has already been prepared (and they’re bringing the dessert!)

Today I feel so blessed to be surrounded by the people God has put in our lives.

Now I gotta run… precious solo minutes ticking away!!! What does today hold for y’all?

Cold running shoes? Must be something for pampered runners haha I grew up in MI and ran cross country and we never had “cold running” shoes.

Not sure how cold it will be but I ran a 10k last month and it was 27 degrees that morning (but warmed up, thank goodness!)… I bought Under Armour Cold Gear compression tights (not the ‘fitted’ tights – specifically compression tights) and they were wonderful! No chill for my legs whatsoever – and they weren’t too warm, either!
