this & that {+ a mini-giveaway}

Posted by & filed under #TeamFMF, Friends, Lego Star Wars, Nourish Organics.

I just went almost three days without posting anything. That may be a recent record for me! Or maybe not… it just seems like a long time!

Either way, I’m here now and I have lots of little things to share, so I hope you don’t mind a little “this & that” post to close out your week.

First, for those of you who enjoy Star Wars (or if you don’t, but you feel like you should at least have a grasp of the storyline), you may enjoy this short and informative video which, believe it or not, has actually expanded my understanding of the series and what on earth is going on.

Can you guess which person in my house would watch this all day on repeat if I let him?

Second, I told you that I did a bunch of family photo shoots this past weekend for friends from church. I just had to show you a picture of my gorgeous friend Christy – mostly because I want to know if any of you think she looks like a specific famous person. I won’t tell who because I’m hoping someone will guess.

First person to get it right gets twelve points and gets to send me one photo to edit for them. (Is that a fun prize or a lame prize? I don’t know…)

And if you can’t get it with that first picture (since it’s a little bit far away), maybe this one helps?

(isn’t she so pretty, by the way?)

Also in the “This & That” category are a few random housekeeping matters:

1. Nourish is being featured on Kayla Aimee’s blog later today (Friday) – including a lavender gift set giveaway and a discount.

2. I have some cool Land of Nod products to review and give away next week. Hurrah for awesome kid toys.

3. If you are interested in advertising on Finding My Feet in the month of December, contact me soon. I still have some spots open for reviews and giveaways.

And finally, it should be noted that exactly one month from today I will be running a half marathon (that’s 13.1 miles, y’all!) in Memphis. Our team has battled with uncooperative IT Bands, grill explosions, shin splints, X-Rays, MRIs and lots of achy muscles (turns out some of us aren’t as young as we thought we were!), but as it stands (just over four weeks out), we are all planning to cross both the starting line and the finish line!

It will be fun to share that weekend with y’all (and if you’ll be in the area, let us know and come cheer us on!), but in the meantime, we would love it if you would sponsor our team to support St. Jude Hospital and the sweet kids that need our help.

You can donate on my personal fundraising page here (it’s so sad and lonely) or our team page here. 100% of your donations go to St. Jude. We love seeing your names come up!

Okay, that’s all. I apologize for all the randomness.

Has anyone guessed what famous person (currently living!) Christy looks like?

Whitney – I can’t bear to have you losing by just four minutes on account of that video! Send me a photo, too, and I’ll be glad to take a crack at editing it however you like!

In the first, more distant picture I actually thought she resembled Pippa. In the second one, however, I definitely see Kate. Funny because I never really thought the “actual” Kate and Pippa looked that much alike in the first place. Ha!

I think she looks like Pippa Middleton, but as a brit I guess our media has featured her more than US media has featured Kate!

Also loving the star wars vid!

I was going to say Kate Middleton, too. Especially in the last photo. . . And I think it’s a cool prize. It takes me forever to edit, so having someone else do it (better) would be awesome! I like creative prizes that don’t cost anything. :)

Hi Sarah, I was just reading through the comments and noticed you comment. I used to read your blog, I was just thinking about you and your family and little Debby and wondering how you all were doing. I bet she is getting so big. Buy anyway I hope you all are doing well. Have a great and blessed day! Oh are there any more little Robbins on the way yet?

Um, so jealous. I would love to look like Kate Middleton. Then I could pull the ol’ switcharoo on my longtime crush Prince William. Give your friend that tip :)

Also, the giveaway is up! Sorry it’s a little late y’all, someone decided she didn’t want to sleep all night. And by “someone” I definitely mean my crazy child, not me. I would always choose sleep.

I hope Ryan still plans on doing some kind of guest blog about his marathon experience! Two thumbs way up for your half marathon coming up – I am struggling with IT band issues right now and it’s frustrating! I can’t run with the pain in my hip and I’m antsy. I hoped to run a half in March but will probably wait until May. Good luck with your final training stretch!

I hope so too! I actually asked him about that tonight at dinner and I think he’s still planning on it – though he said he’d be more likely to get around to it if he just recorded a video for to post. That doesn’t count! :)

Hope your IT band pulls itself together! SO frustrating to want to train and be physically unable to move your legs to do it! I definitely get being antsy about it!
