from the weekend shoots

I’m editing photos today from my shoots this weekend and I am finding some images I really love. Maybe I’ll put up a few more later today.

In the meantime,  happy last day of October! I’ve got about eight hours left until my deadline on Oliver’s Halloween costume. He’s thinking Batman. I’m thinking it’s going to be a busy day! :)

What are y’all doing tonight? Any cool kids costumes I should be jealous of?

Love those pictures!!! I’ve got a costume you should be jealous of- my *daughter* is wearing a fake mustache and a snake around her neck and is a British snake keeper. And she’s got the accent down pat! We have NO clue where she came up with the idea, but we’ll go with it!

My daughter is a peacock. Can’t believe I pulled that one off. She’s beautiful!! I’m surprise Oliver didn’t want to be a Star Wars character. Happy Hallowe’en!!

we definitely considered a lego star wars guy – but we decided we didn’t want it to be the year that oliver fell going up someone’s stairs because we put boxes on his legs :)

You capture such loveliness in all your pictures. They’re so beautiful. Sam’s going as a dinosaur–the exact same dinosaur he was last year, in fact. Turns out growing super slow and being super small has its advantages, because we are reusing all of last winter’s clothes! :) Piper is just wearing a little dress with pumpkins on it that I made–my very first dress ever! We’re going trick-or-treating with a mass of about 20 of our friends so it’s going to be crazy fun.

Our oldest (5) was Snow White (dress bought at a consignment sale for a couple of bucks!). Our youngest son (18 mo) was a lion…another costume bought at a consignment sale for $5 (still had the Old Navy tags on it for $24.99!). Our middle child (3 yrs) wanted to be a fireman. My mom had bought him fireman rain boots at Target a couple of weeks ago (just for play around the house). I made him a fire chief jacket by buying a black dress shirt at Walmart. I cut the rounded tails off to make the jacket go straight across on the bottom. I bought a roll of yellow duct tape and trimmed the bottom of the shirt, the cuffs and the collar w/ the yellow tape. I also added a yellow strip of tape around the middle of the jacket and around the upper arm of each sleeve. Bought him a fire man hat at Party City for $5.99! He looked great and it didn’t cost too much! That is the first costume I have made and I was very proud of it!
(I had bought an iron on American flag decal to put on one arm but never got to it in time for tonight. Will add it later!) I also wanted to use iron on letters for the back w/ either his last name or just FIRE CHIEF.
