Jowly babies and a Facebook page

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

I just reactivated my Facebook account last night (I haven’t been on Facebook since February 2009) and found myself tagged in a few old photos.

One in particular caught me by surprise. I don’t usually see a lot of myself in my babies (partly because I think they favor Ry’s side of the family and partly because I just think of them as them, so it’s hard to see resemblances objectively), but this picture has a lot of Hazel in it, in my opinion – especially in the mouth.

Do y’all see any resemblance?

Also, does this explain why my babes have bright white hair? Ry’s hair was this color too at this age, so there was no doubt they’d be blondies.

ps- I also created a Facebook Page for my blog last night. Like I said, it’s been a while since I’ve been on Facebook, so I’m still re-orienting myself. But hopefully it will be fun to have a page there too where I can share additional photos, heads ups for giveaways and whatever else. Feel free to “like” me on my sidebar there if you like!

a couple of y’all have said Oliver has my eyes. That’s interesting (and kind of nice!) to hear. Glad to hear they favor me a bit too! But, I must say, you should see some 4-year-old photos of Ryan’s Dad. Uncanny!

Actually, I can see both of the kids. They both are a perfect mix.. but since Hazel is so feminine I think it may be easier for you to resemble her.. or her to resemble you:)

To me, through pictures of course, your kids look exactly like you! It’s funny how hard it is to be objective when they’re your kids though!

I just had to comment on this because my absolute favorite thing to do is to sit in the hallway and listen to my girls play. They are 4 and 7 and they come up with the best story lines. All dramatic with death, love, wars and birth (we have a 10 month old and they where there when he was born). They have even cried real tears while playing pretend. :-)
They make me laugh all the time, like when my 4 year old gets upset because the 7 yr old wont share the pretend cake, or when the girls give birth to twins – a puppy and a turtle. (I mean, who was the dad?) The best times in my house all occur when the TV is turned off and their imaginations are turned on!

Lovin the new look on your blog! Such a sucker for Chevron stripes. :-)

PS–is it weird that I naturally want to call you “Raech”, as if we were IRL friends or something. Ha!
PPS–Your kids, still adorable & congrats on the race! I told you they’re addicting!

Raech is definitely okay! And since we live a million miles away from each other and there’s not a huge chance of us meeting anytime soon, we can just pretend we’re IRL friends that live to far apart to get together very often. Except that I’m guessing you’re girlfriends don’t call you “jode” :)

    I joined!

I’ve Tweeted you about the half marathon but I’m not sure that you got it since I don’t think you follow me – we decided to go to Cuba instead – relax on the beach instead of run 20km. Lazy! Ooh well! I’ll be thinking of you all and look forward to reading all about it.

I’ve been “training” a bit, but I think 6K has been my max so far. Maybe I should train like I’m going to be in the marathon!

I definitely see Hazel in that photo, and a little Oliver too. Your kiddos are the sweetest.

Hi, Micaela! Oh, i’m glad to hear from you! I didn’t get the tweet, but no worries. I figured you’d decided against it and it was no biggie. Cuba sounds FUN!! (And I think if I were given the option I might go with the beach too) :)

Oliver from the eyes up, and Haze from the nose down. You were a little cutie. Explains why your children are so monstrously adorable.
